
I arise today, but I deserve death.
God has shown me love yet I still reject.
Will this struggle last until my last breath?
My sinful existence I do detest.
The world is repulsive, but it can’t change
Until believers can first change themselves.
It is a paradox that is quite strange.
But to save others we must save ourselves.
The world is burning, but that is my fault.
I’ve had it backwards, I must turn inwards.
But my sinful nature is my default.
It is I that is chief among sinners.
There is more hope for change with repentance.
Worthless is my vote and independence.
